What is more British than a cup of tea?
Come join us on Monday 18th November at 10.30am at the Taft Museum to view their holiday displays. Museum founders Charles and Anna Taft hosted an afternoon tea reception annually on New Year’s Day. According to a local newspaper, they provided their guests with “hot temptations” and “a delicious brew of eggnog.” Taking inspiration from these historical gatherings, the museum’s dining room is adorned with a few must-haves for such an occasion, including gleaming tea and coffee services and a variety of dishes waiting to be filled with sweet treats.
In addition, this holiday season the Taft will be partnering with Indigo Hippo the creative reuse center in Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine neighborhood, on a new festive installation that will celebrate sustainability alongside the holiday season.
There are also two other current exhibits Posing Beauty in African American Culture photo series and new ceramic works by local artist Terri Kern.
Lunch to follow in the Lindbergh family cafe with soups, salads and sandwiches on the menu.
Please let me know if you would like to join us and I can share more details and possible carpool opportunities. The museum is free on Monday although there may be a $12 charge for special exhibits. Depending on the number of us going I will look at a docent tour.
Have a great weekend and save Friday 6th December for the next British Club event.
